RSE Y EL PACTO MUNDIAL

Estimados Estudiantes

El Pacto Mundial es una iniciativa internacional propuesta por las Naciones Unidas con el objetivo de fomentar la ciudadanía corporativa. Naciones Unidas tiene como objetivo involucrar a las empresas privadas en la gestión de algunos de los principales retos sociales y medio ambientales que se plantean con la creciente globalización. El Pacto Mundial proporciona una oportunidad para que las empresas de todo el mundo participen en la asunción de estos retos. Las empresas pueden contribuir a través de iniciativas voluntarias en su propia organización y en sus cadenas de suministro. También pueden trabajar conjuntamente con las Naciones Unidas, los poderes públicos o con organizaciones no gubernamentales en actividades que contribuyan al desarrollo sostenible en la comunidad local o internacional.

What is Corporate Social Responsability?

Dear Class

As we talked in class, Corporate Social Responsibility is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. CSR policy functions as a built-in, self-regulating mechanism whereby a business monitors and ensures its active compliance with the spirit of the law, ethical standards, and international norms.

Stakeholders Explanation


A stakeholder is anybody who can affect or is affected by an organisation, strategy or project. They can be internal or external and they can be at senior or junior levels. Some definitions suggest that stakeholders are those who have the power to impact an organisation or project in some way. For example:

'People or small groups with the power to respond to, negotiate with, and change the strategic future of the organization' (Eden and Ackermann 1998: 117). Look at the example of the tower foud:
